As we get farther and farther into the scandals of the day there is one question that keeps popping up in my mind. Is this country, under GOP leadership, becoming a totalitarian state? It's hard to say no especially after reading
this article about a new law sitting on Ohio Gov. Taft's desk.
Bill Would Allow Arrests For No Reason In Public Place

A bill on Gov. Bob Taft's desk right now is drawing a lot of criticism, NewsChannel5 reported.
One state representative said it resembles Gestapo-style tactics of government, and there could be changes coming on the streets of Ohio's small towns and big cities.
Jump or go to jail.
You may think that is a hyperbolic description given by that state rep but read just what the law allows.
The Ohio Patriot Act has made it to the Taft's desk, and with the stroke of a pen, it would most likely become the toughest terrorism bill in the country.
The lengthy piece of legislation would let police arrest people in public places who will not give their names, address and birth dates, even if they are not doing anything wrong.
WEWS reported it would also pave the way for everyone entering critical transportation sites such as, train stations, airports and bus stations to show ID.
Got that? You could be sitting in the park, minding your own business, and have a cop demand identification. If you declined they could then arrest you.
The article doesn't say what will happen if you are not carrying your ID but it appears at first read to indicate that you would be required to posess it at all times.
Maybe I'm paranoid, how can you not be these days, but this is about as close to the end of our country as we know it as I have seen. Would the next step be wearing a certain type of sign on your clothing indicating your immagration status?
